Giraffe Hosting
Self-Managed Windows VPS Hosting
Choose Windows VPS when your application needs a Windows server environment. Review the image, licence and resource requirements before ordering.
Check the Windows configuration
Configure a Windows VPS with the server image and resources your application needs. Available releases and licence charges are shown when you configure your order.
Check your application vendor’s supported operating systems, memory requirements and licence conditions. Remote Desktop access for server administration is different from licensing a multi-user desktop service.
Resources for your application
| Plan | Memory | Processor | SSD disk | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Core | 1GB | 1 core | 25GB | £19.99 |
| 2 Core | 2GB | 2 cores | 50GB | £25.99 |
| 4 Core | 4GB | 4 cores | 75GB | £40.99 |
| 6 Core | 8GB | 6 cores | 100GB | £55.99 |
| 8 Core | 16GB | 8 cores | 200GB | £80.99 |
| 10 Core | 32GB | 10 cores | 400GB | £199.99 |
VPS prices shown exclude any additional Windows licence charges. Choose enough memory for Windows and your application; the smallest plan may not suit your workload.
Administer the server safely
You or your administrator manage Windows updates, application patches, users, backups, monitoring and recovery. Restrict remote administration to authorised users and appropriate network access. Keep a recovery route available before changing firewall or login settings.
Do not assume an application is protected just because it runs on a VPS. Test a full restore, monitor free disk space and document how to recover services and data.
Questions before you choose
Is Windows server maintenance included?
The VPS is self-managed. You or an appointed administrator maintain the operating system and applications.
Can I use it for a Windows application?
Check the supported Windows release, resources and licence requirements with the application vendor, then confirm the image and licence available in the order configurator.
What if I need a managed website platform?
Compare managed cloud and WordPress hosting for supported website workloads. Confirm application compatibility rather than assuming a managed hosting platform supports every Windows application.
